Winter Fair

PEMBROKESHIRE Young Farmers’ once again braved the cold to hold a very well attended Winter Fair held at Whitland Mart. The weather was cold but dry and Llysyfran YFC was delighted to take home the overall trophy at the end of the day. In the stock judging the overall butchers lambs was one by Llysyfran YFC with individual success for Grug Harries 16 & U, Rhys James U18, Llinos Ford 21& U and James Hughes 26& U. In the Butchers Beef overall success was claimed by Llawhaden YFC with the highest individuals named as Sara Edwards, Sion Wilson U18, Kieran Haycocks 21 & Under and Marged Simons 26 and under. In the Carcass section the overall winners were Fishguard YFC with individual success for Steffan Wilson U16, Sion Lloyd 18& U, Alun Edwards 21& U and Dyfed Davies 26 & U. The 4 x4 and box challenge was won by Rhys Bevan and Rhys Griffiths, Llysyfran. Lamb rearing was won by Sion Wilson, Lamb Trimming was won by Owain Jenkins and pallet recycling was won by Berwyn Warlow and Rhys Bevan. The scarecrow competition was won by Llysyfran and the Christmas wreath Competition winner was Nia Lewis.
Members then travelled to Builth Wells for the Wales Winter Fair where carcass judging 3rd was awarded to Dyfed Davies. In the butchers Beef Sara Edwards was placed 4th.
